Hey GF ~ Move south!!! ;D
Dave ~ Thanks, we're about a month ahead of you in weather. Rule here is to have a garden in by April 15th. We had to replant the tomatoes. Lost the first plants to heavy frost.
Steve: We had 'some rain' last night... we'll take more if it comes. I want to see pictures of your garden when it gets going.

We're watering daily too Barb, and it's a PIA. One neighbor mentioned we have a drought and 'ban' in force.
OK... LOL

We always have a drought and water rationing.
You planted that on April 15, and it grew that much in less than 1 month. Wow! From seeds?
what a green thumb you have. Very nice looking garden.

Hubby planted April 15.
Corn, cucumbers, beans, and squash are all from seeds. Potatoes are from eyed potatoes, so yes, from seed. Canteloupe and Watermelon are just coming up so they aren't real high yet, also from seed.
Tomotato plants were 4" plants when he put them in.

Looks good Linda! We haven't even gotten ours in yet. Plan to do it this weekend, but will use the plants rather than seeds if at all possible. We usually do seeds, but since we're getting it in late, we will only use them if we have to. Planning a trip to Home depot Friday night so we can hopefully get a early start on Saturday. I'm getting low on my home canned goodies from last year, so I'm hoping they last until we get the new crops in. We want to plant some flowers too, I'm looking for a good climbing one to go around the deck, hopefully can find some honeysuckle. I love that and it climbs well. We want something that comes up every year. I had planned on planting Morning glory, but it doesn't come up every year in our area.

We planted some Clematis Nancy. It's finally taking off. It was small when we put it in. I just hope it grows well where we planted it. Hopefully our garden will do well. I know the lady next door is. She's already planning her dinner with some of the green beans. Last year I kept her supplied with canteloupe. Sounds like you'll be busy planting this weekend, and I do hope your garden does well.

We finally got our garden in. Planted ten tomato plants, two rows of green beans, zucchini, cucumbers and banana peppers. I can't wait to start getting fresh veggies. We might expand it next year but didn't have time to do it this year, too much going on. I hate the tomatoes at the store, they are so tasteless! Oh I forgot we also have strawberries and Rhubarb. The strawberries have lots of green berries right now, and we put a net over them this year to keep the birds from eating them. We planted them two years ago and haven't gotten to eat any because the birds kept eating them. This year we fooled them. Rhubarb is ready to be picked, I need to start freezing or canning it.

I agree Nancy...the tomatoes here have NO flavor. I've griped about it since moving here. LOL But, so has hubby and he eats a tomato every day. Our garden has 'really' taken hold. Will try and get some newer pics later.
