Last night my husband was on our desktop computer and a page popped up that said: Warning Identity theft attempt detected Security risk _ _ _ _ _{it had 4 out of 5} Target Microsoft Corporation Keys Recommended: Please click “Remove all” or "prevent attack" button to erase all infected files and protect your PC
When I clicked Remove all I got this: 6 months $49.95 1 year $69.95 Lifetime Guard was $224.95 now $9.95
I ran the quick version of avast, Spybot, and Malwarebytes and there were a few things that I got rid of, {nothing serious}but that keeps popping up. I'm running a full scan of Avast now to make sure there's nothing else, but does anyone know how to get rid of this pop up? I don't know why is would be scanning my computer if it's something you have to buy. It seems suspicious to me.

Hi Nancy, I had a similar (if not the same) one last week. Fortunately I have another computer and was able to get help through that one, as I couldn't do anything with the one I normally use, all programs were blocked. Go to www.bleepingcomputer.comIn the search window, type the name of the problem and you will find instructions to remove it. You have already done most of the work by running Malwarebytes, but they say to run another first, it is called "Road Kill" I think, when you run that, it unlocks the programme so that you can get rid of it. Good Luck. Mike.
