I am getting Microsoft Office 2010 today, and wondered how to get my documents from Microsoft Office 2000 over to it after I install it. Do I need to keep the old version on my computer or is there a way to get them over without just upgrading?

Just open them with old version - if you change the document it may ask you if you want to convert into new version. We have 3 PCs with Office 2007 & previous versions both existing on Windows 7 at the same time.

I haven't had a chance to install it yet. Is there a lot of difference between the newer versions and the 2000 version? It just seemed that my older version was limited at times.

I'm still using 2003, I did try the new one but didn't like it as it wanted to go on line all the time and so on. I imagine you can control it, but I don't need all the extra bells and whistle for home.

Different as chalk to cheese! That's for sure! Yikes! I can't seem to find a way to put a icon on the desktop for it. Usually it just puts one on whether you want it to or not. I'm not sure why there isn't a way to do it when you right click. It's going to take me a while to get used to it. In the meantime I'm keeping the old one on my computer. I need to take a class in it or something, I didn't expect it to be so different.

There's usually free MS Office training online.
