The time for Windows 7 becomes close, I do not like Vista which I have on my laptop and am considering change. Anybody have information? Pro's and Con's?

I wish I knew more too but I don't at this point. Hopefully someone can help. Or go to Worldstart.com as that is a great computer site.

www.live.mswindowsseven.webcollage.net/server/costco/mswindowsseven-showcase/standalonea short video on Windows 7 My nieghbours grandson is one of the 'testers' for the various operating systems for Microsoft. I asked as I am looking at a new system/ laptop. He said it was Vista but better with all the bugs out of it. Easier, faster, friendlier. BUT only to install it on a new pc that would be built in the past couple years. I'm sure it has to do with memory and processor speeds. I have 2x XP I use all the time, and 1 Vista I use even more. I like the Vista. It was a royal PITA to hook up networking and wireless through the other computers but once accomplished I have no problems.

I know three people who have it and all said it took some 'mind' adjustments, but they do like it. It's probably harder to go to W7 if you're still using XP (like me) but I believe it's also how willing you are to adapt. It's my understanding the biggest gripe is finding where things are now.

I have a Kiwi acquaintance who got windows 7. He says it is problematic to start with and most programmes will not run on it without an update patch. Within a month it crashed and he hed to reload it.
Another friend in Canada, bought a new laptop with Windows 7 installed and says that it is great.
So it looks like a new machine for the new system seems to be the way to go.
