We are kickin butt in the playoffs! We beat Nashville in 6 games and now are up on Colorado 3 to 0! I hope this continues...we could use another cup here in Detroit! ;D

Still hoping for Montreal. Since my Oilers didn't make it, gotta cheer for the last Canadian team, but they seem to be in a wee bit of trouble! Go Habs Go!

I am so excited! It's been a long time since we've made it to round 3! Just waiting to see who we'll play next. Forgot to say that we swept the Avs and we're now waiting to see who we play next! By the way...I'm not sure how many of you know about Detroit's tradition with throwing an octopus on the ice. Al Sobotka, the Wings ice keeper and zamboni driver swings the octopus over his head when he is removing it from the ice. Gary Bettman, the commissioner of the NHL, has said that if Al swings the octopus he will be fined $10,000. Sucks that a 56 year tradition is being squashed!

I though that Al was an employee of Joe Lewis Arena or maybe the Red Wings organization, but I can't see where Bettman has any say as to what Al does. Bettman is an ass, and I think he should get an anonymous package sent to him containing an Octopus from the Wings fans. If however Al does get fined for something I hope he gets a raise in pay to offset the fine, and if not I would be more than willing to make a donation to the Al Sobotka fine fund.

Go PenguinsIt's been so long since the Penguins did any good I forgot we had a NHL team. LOL ;D ;D I really wouldn't mind seeing the Wings face them either, now that you mention it. That would mean the Wings got to the big dance again. I remember how easy it was to to forget the Dead Wings of the 60's though the early 90's. It's kind of like we in Michigan forget that we used to have a Pro Football team.
