If you're going to sell something on here, odds are you'll need to ship it to the buyer.
Here are a few little tips that might help things go nice and smoothly for you!
Before you sell something, make sure you have, or can get adequate packaging for it. You can get used boxes free through places such as a grocery store or drugstore. Just ask - many will be happy to save them for you, although some won't. You might also be able to get packing material such as bubble wrap and packing peanuts that way - a store that has breakable items shipped are more likely to have such supplies available for the taking.
If you need to re-use packing material, it's best that it's clean and in good condition. Would you want to have something packed with used nasty looking stained bubble wrap sent to you?
Pack items well to withstand shipping. Use a sturdy enough box for what you ship. If you need to buy new boxes or shipping supplies, some can be found at stores such as Staples or Office Max, or purchased online at sites such as www.uline.com, www.esupplystore.com, and even on eBay!
If you're using the US Post Office, they offer free boxes for Priority Mail. Just go HERE to start looking. Some boxes can also be obtained at your local post office - although the sizes vary by post office.
Package your item well. Not sure if it's packed well enough? Pack it up and throw it down a flight of stairs (or two). If it broke, you didn't do a good enough job! (Please use caution if using this tip --- if you only have one and already sold it, the buyer won't be happy!)
Weigh you item after it's packaged -- use that weight to calculate shipping expenses. You can do this through each carrier's website.
