Finally...I quit smoking!! I used that new pill...Chantix. I did a little research before I popped my first little blue pill, and I pretty much like what I read. I forget how to do a lot of things on here, so I'm not sure how to do the linky thingy...but I do believe the link is www.chantix.com or www.getquit.com . I was smoking over 2 packs a day when I quit. Four days after starting the Chantix I quit completely. I have now gone 23 days without a smoke...and for the most part I don't even crave one. I've only really had one side effect from them...and I actually love it. They cause really crazy, vivid dreams. Not scary ones...just really crazy ones!!lol I've woke up a few times thinking that I had a conversation with my mom. But in reality I never had!!lol One day I made the kids clean their mess in the dining room cuz I thought mom told me either I made them do it or she was going to. Later that day I mentioned that they cleaned the dining room like she had asked and she told me that she never asked me to have them do it. Well, not out loud anyways!!LMAO From what I've heard and read there are a lot of success stories. My best friend, her sister, and her boss all quit 5 months ago using Chantix. Most insurances will cover it too. So if you're thinking about quitting...I would very highly recommend Chantix.

I've never smoked, but my oldest son does and we've tried to get him to quit. I'm going to send him this link and see if he'll try it.

I forgot all about posting this thread...lol I'm now going into my 10th week without smoking! I feel great (except for this dang bronchitis/sinus infection thing I got going on right now..ug!). I'm exposed to a smoker everyday (my mom) and to tell you the truth...it never really got to me. I'll admit that the first week maybe two was tough to be around other smokers. But now, it doesn't even cross my mind to ask for one. I can't remember the last time I had even a tiny craving for one. I have so much more money too! I highly recommend it to everyone who would like to quit. I have tried cold turkey in the past...and it would work for a few months. Now, of course, I'm barely into the second month, but I think I'm gonna make it. I'm going through some really stressful events right now, and if I've gotten this far without lighting up, I do believe that I'm gonna make it for a very long time (hopefully for life).
