Be careful if your sealing anything with liquid, ie. strawberries. My ex did that and got the juice in the machine...needless to say...it's no longer working. ;D i put some sweet corn up and had a heck of a time getting a seal, because of the juice. luckily the machine survived.

Well, the machine has arrived, along with two free bag rolls, free !!!, yeah right.Mrs Rodders has been having a play with it and she has been bagging up all manner of things.....Hmmm, come to think of it, where's the cat... LOL Her report is.....amazing, so it's off to the meat auctions on Sat to stock up the freezer. I did notice one thing in the preservation guidelines about bread after vacuum sealing. Before sealing...2/3 days at room temperature. After sealing.... 8/10 Months at room temperature...WOW. Footnote: If you don't hear from me for a while.....she'll have no doubt sealed up the damn keyboard and mouse i had good luck with kaiser rolls etc, but not with softer bread. it got squished and didn't bounce back after freezing and thawing.

Looked again at the instructions for mine regarding bread, it says "freezing is not recommended for vacuumed bread" Think I'll do an experiment on this...(if I'm allowed to get near the machine) LOL. No idea what a kaiser roll is but I will vacuum 3 burger baps and see how long they do last at room temperature. I can't really see them lasting 8/10 months as the book says.

[/quote] i don't know rodders. maybe with the preservatives that are already in them, and if you keep then stored in a cool area, they might. a kaiser roll is chewier than a regular hamburger bun.
