These damn things moved in to my pantry, I have tried everything to get rid of them. I found this today, so I will let you know how I get on. How to Repel Grain Moths with Bay Leaves by Annie Berthold-Bond, Care2.com Producer, Green Living Channels Simple Solution Tired of pouring out your cereal in the morning only to have a moth fly out? Those pesky grain moths are often found in bags of flour and box of rice. I consulted with an expert at the King Arthur Flour Company. Operating a flour mill he knew all about grain moths. He unequivocally recommended bay leaves as the best grain moth repellent. Sprinkle bay leaves on shelves, or tape bay leaves inside of canisters or cereal boxes. He claims that the bay leaves won’t leave a flavor. Grain moths like warmth and moisture, so store grains in airtight containers and in a cool place. The only other material he found to work to deter grain moths is Bazooka Bubble Gum! (You follow the same directions as with bay leaves.) Helpful Hints According to folk wisdom, other deterrent herbs for weevils are cloves and peppercorns—place them in the storage area. If anyone else has a known solution please let me know. I would love to put the bread and cereals etc back in the pantry.

eeewww I hate those things and Bopper, I can't believe youv'e never had them! I thought everybody got them now and then, I've even had them in unopened boxes of flour, etc...ewww The bay leaf thing is big here in Fla, they seem to help a lot, but they are a pain, always falling out of the shelves when you try to get something out...I was wondering if I tied some little bundles in mesh bags or something if it would work, think I'll try it next time I change them. I try to keep flour and such in the fridge since I don't use it that often. I have also had moths hatch out in dry dog food, so now I keep that sealed up airtight, too. geeez

I still haven't done my pantry, I have just stopped putting stuff in there for now. ;D I got a neat kind of rubbermaid thing for the dog food at Target, in the pet aisle, it is a nice bit skinny container and holds a 25lb bag of food. No problems so far. www.hmsmfg.com/products/housewares/2251.htmThis is the exact one I have, Home Logic Pet Food Container. They have some pretty neat stuff on that site too!
