We setup our new PC yesterday and the biggest problem I'm having is with the text size. I've managed to get it from about 1/32 of an inch to the large size but that's just a little too big. Any suggestions?
Another thing is how to set it so I don't have to log in every time? I did it on our XP but that was almost 5 years ago.
Any advice or help would be most appreciated, thanks. I'll be popping in here off and on all day, got some learnin' to do. ;D

I can't help you JoAnne. I'm still with Vista. But will take advantage of the good info to follow so I can learn too.

Thanks Julie. I have since found out that it's FireFox where I'm having text trouble and can't figure out how to change it. IE is much easier on the eyes but I don't like IE.

Have you tried Ctrl and roll your mouse wheel? Or hit together the two keys on the keyboard "Ctrl" and "-". The "-" should be hit twice; or Ctrl and minus sign twice or dash twice.
This should reduce the size of the webpage. Repeat until they can see the whole page. Using the "+" sign twice instead of the "-" sign will make the image larger.

Thanks Kassie, I did do that already, 150% is too much and 125% isn't quite big enough. Thanks for your help.

I don't have 7 but heard it has not changed much since Vista, just got out the bugs and errors. Is your graphic card set up with your preferences? Depends on the Control Panel and Display... obviously needs tweaking. I suggest you try a Windows 7 forum; all experienced with this OS. windows7forums.com/windows-7-help-support/one quick one that I found.

Thanks Doreen, I'll check it out. I didn't know you could se preferences on your graphics card. I can on mine, I suppose each one is different. Mine has settings and is also a TV Tuner so I have to have access to it.

As for logging in -- did you set up a password when you set up Windows 7? If you did, that's probably why you're needing to log in all the time. I'm setting up 2 laptops with Windows 7 right now - I didn't set up a password on either of them, and they just load Windows without needing a login. These came with 7 pre-installed.

I did Chris because it prompted me for one. Is there any way to get around it? This new PC came with windows 7 pre-installed also. I know when we set up our XP years ago it prompted me to put in a password but reading somewhere it told me how to get around that. I know there's a big difference between XP and Windows 7 but I would think that there would still be a way around it, it's a pain in the rear.

Try pressing ALT+CTRL+DEL, then picking "Change a password". Enter your current password where prompted and leaving the new password fields blank, then hit the arrow to save it. That should take care of it.
